Beautiful Bedroom Chairs

I love writing about one aspect of design idea at a time with images to support my thoughts. Here's a page where a chair is blended beautifully in a bedroom. I hope you'll enjoy this idea as much as I do. We typically add furniture to suit a room - for example sofas, chairs to the living room, and bed, dressers to the bedrooms and so on. Adding a chair next to the bed lets to you sit down and relax for at least for a moment. That's what I do most days, thinking my day through before I even start my busy day. A chair is a great addition to any room, sometimes it just helps to sit down where ever you are. It is like the most-used furniture in any home. Do you agree with me?

Beautiful Balconies

Oh, is it really January! It feels like spring in Bay Area, California. The weather here set me in mood to browse thru small yet serene balcony gardens. Balconies are a great addition to any home - a space that most times get ignored. It can be easily polished into a retreat where someone can unwind and enjoy a breath of fresh air. I can only imagine glancing at greenery and enjoying sunshine with a cup of hot tea and my favorite book .. now I wish we lived in a home with a balcony..

HGTV's Best Artist - David Bromstad

I bet any artist will appreciate David Bromstad's unique work. He is able to scale an object to an unimaginable size.  David's illusionary paintings always draw me in with their bold colors and shapes. He truly has an advantage of being an interior designer and artist; this combination of professions is what makes his work stunning. He has the ability to create something personal for the client and to seamlessly blend it with the rest of the decor.. I have a hard time incorporating large canvas into any room and I'm trying to learn this trick from him.. oh well..

I have a few of his work -- what a brilliant color combination of simple objects, lines and arches... Hope you enjoy this collection as much as I do :)

Tisha Morris | Mind, Body and Home

I'm glad to review Tisha Morris's latest book Mind, Body and Home. A little Feng Shui can go a long way, especially when you implement this in your own home.. Tisha has said it right in her new book Mind, Body and Home -- “Our home is the space with which we are most intimately connected. Second only to our physical body, it is our shell from the rest of the world. It is a container for out thoughts and emotions."

In this book, she beautifully talks about how our home is a reflection of us and from foundation to roof it holds the power to enhance health, relationships and attract prosperity. I like her approach on making a home a supportive environment rather than a challenging space to live. I also love the fact that she is an Interior Designer.. someone who keeps up with the latest decor trends.

I really enjoyed reading this book and could relate to several topics. My favorite chapters are "Our Energy, Our Emotions, and Our Stuff" and "Your Home Speaks Your Mind!".

"I Love Lucy" Inspired Decor

"I Love Lucy" Inspired Decor
I stumbled upon one or two "I Love Lucy" stage settings recently, and that made me look for more. I'm not sure which season these pictures are from, but what I found interesting is most of the decor here fall under a style that is making a comeback. Furniture's with pointed legs, leaner hand rests, sofas with just one arm, pin-tucked headboards and sofas, recliners without arms, geometric wall patterns, book shelves decorated with accessories... clean lines.. hmm.. do you see this style trending or is it just me! Oh well, I love this style and I love Lucy as well... how about you?

Earthy Brick Walls

Have you ever considered leaving a brick wall unfinished? These images below might just get you thinking to leave this wall alone...

Brick walls add a earthy feel to the home, and it also adds character and warmth.  Layering a traditional reddish clay brick wall can be an interesting decor project by itself. I personally think most color palettes will blend well. You can make the room look modern or rustic or classic or even industrial. All you have to do is bring in your personal style without plastering these walls :) Do you agree with me?
